While in Miami late September 2009 I had the pleasure of sharing studio space with my friends at StrawberrySmoke. Their Studio manager / my good friend @DanielAmy had never used a professional camera. As I attempted to keep my energy high at 01:00 am after a 12 hour glamour photography session with various models I decided to try and teach him some camera and lighting basics while one of the models changed her makeup. Here is what he achieved in just 5-10 minutes of one-on-one time with this very sleepy photographer modeling for him… Be sure to let us know what you think of the photographs in the comments section =)

India Boop from my self portrait series. I play the real life role of the infamous sex symbol Betty Boop I loved her when I was a kid.

I had the pleasure of working with Studio II’s photographer Darrell Hawkins for my very first photo shoot as a model. Darrell was very professional and guided me towards finding many more opportunities as a model. our work together graced the cover of many beauty and hair magazines and set the foundation for a lasting friendship with Erica Wilson, the very first professional makeup artist I had worked with. Erica Went for a very clean and fresh makeup look for this shoot to complement the sophisticated and fun styles created by the award winning master braider, Nafy Diagne. I went on to work with them numerous times as a model, and through modeling I built a long lasting friendship with their staff. Nuaje Visions has also played a vital role in my knowledge and advancement as a photographer through our dynamic mentoring friendship. I first met Lee in Autumn 2006 of which i took the plunge and stepped in front of his lens as a model.
